About the role
Cashiers and convenience associates are the front line of the NSK retail experience. You are the person customers interact with every day, and a well-run register and convenience floor is what brings them back. We hire across all 50 plus stations in New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, and Rhode Island, with year-round openings on morning, evening, and overnight shifts.
Most of our store managers and shift supervisors started in this role. If you take the work seriously, the path up is real and it does not take long.
What you will do
- Operate the register, process cash and card transactions, and handle customer interactions throughout your shift
- Stock shelves, monitor inventory, and keep the convenience floor and coffee station clean and presentable
- Verify age for tobacco, alcohol, and lottery purchases according to state regulations
- Complete shift reports, drop deposits, and end-of-shift reconciliation through our CareforceX system
- Help maintain a safe, friendly environment for customers and coworkers
What we are looking for
- Reliable, on-time, and able to work a posted schedule consistently
- Comfortable with basic math and a touchscreen point-of-sale system
- Customer service experience preferred but not required, full training is provided
- Ability to stand for the full shift and lift up to 30 pounds occasionally
- 18 plus years old (required for tobacco and alcohol sales in most states)
